The walking tour runs about 90 minutes from beginning to end. The lecture version of the tour is flexible and can be as short as 45 minutes or as long as two hours depending on your needs. Both versions can include video, audio, and photographs of the people and entertainment venues mentioned.

Yes. We do our best to plan routes that are accessible and inclusive. If you have any special considerations, please let us know ahead of time and we can alter the route to be even easier to follow.

The tour is hosted by Shawn Sprockett, a local gay designer who began studying his neighborhood's queer history in 2018. Qualified guest hosts may run the tour when there are scheduling conflicts. Sometimes our local partners, like the San Francisco Historical Society or the GLBT Historical Society, may advertise or run versions of our tour.
